About AMIKOM Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta is the only one of the Indonesian, special-territory provinces which has been known as the centers for education in Indonesia and for Javanese culture. STMIK Amikom Yogyakarta is located in the center of Yogyakarta city and in the distance of four kilometers from “Adisucipto” international airport, which lies in the eastern part of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. STMIK AMIKOM students are not only from many different places in Indonesia but from abroad as well.STMIK Amikom Yogyakarta has won a number of international research awards in the field of information and communication technology, that is to say, 2 awards from APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC), 4 awards from the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA), 1 award from URBANIMATION Festival, 1 award from Oto Contest web Sumitomo Corporation, 1 award from Techscape Anniversary Web Contest, and 1 award from the ASEAN Development Citra Award. In addition, STMIK Amikom Yogyakarta has also won a number of national awards from Indosat Wireless Inovation Contest, Indonesian Information Technology Federation, and Indonesian Telematics Software Association.
HISTORY OF THE School of Information Management and Computer AMIKOM Yogyakarta
High School of Information Management and Computer AMIKOM Yogyakarta (hereinafter referred to STMIK AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA) is one private university based in Sleman DIY Province under the auspices of the Foundation AMIKOM Yogyakarta.
STMIK AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA is a college development outcome of the Academy of Information Management and Computer "AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA". AMIKOM Yogyakarta as a higher education institution established under the decision of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 084/D/O/1994 on the Granting Status Registered to Programs / Study Program for the Level D-III Studies Program at AMIKOM Yogyakarta in Yogyakarta and shelter under the Foundation "AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA".
Yogyakarta has AMIKOM Studies Program Information Management and Information Engineering. These courses each managed by a Head of Department and Secretary of the Department are supported by The Faculty, and Staff Administration.
Overall academic institution was headed by a Director assisted by several Assistant Director, Academic Executive, Executive Administratatif Elements, Technical Implementation Unit, Elements of Research and Development and several other supporting elements.
Along with the advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and simultaneously to meet the needs experts who understand and are skilled in these fields, then AMIKOM add the S-1, and transformed into STIMIK AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA.
Based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education Republic of Indonesia dated 24 April 2002, No.. 75/D/O/2002 on the Granting of Operating License for Study Programs and Establishment of the School of Information Management and Computers (STMIK) AMIKOM Yogyakarta in Yogyakarta (Changes in the form of AMIKOM) held by the Foundation AMIKOM Yogyakarta in Yogyakarta.
Under the decree, STMIK AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA given permission to carry out study programs:
1. Technical Information for Undergraduate level (S1)
2. Information System for Undergraduate level (S1)
3. Information Management for the level of the Diploma Program - III (D-3)
4. Computer Science Diploma Program for level-III (D-3)
Implementation Studies Program Information System for Undergraduate level (S1) specifically supported by the Ministry of National Education, with the Director General of Higher Education letter No. 2704/D/T/2004 concerning Operating License Renewal Study Program at STMIK AMIKOM YOGYAKARTA.
